Meet our new LCMS Southern District Circuit 15 Circuit Visitor! Our Pastor. Pastor Parent.
Congratulations!

A Divine Worship service was held June 28, 2025, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Slidell, LA, to install the Southern District President, Praesidium, Board of Directors, and Circuit Visitors. LCMS Southern District Circuit 15 is one of the 15 circuits within the Southern District of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod (LCMS). It encompasses a specific geographical region within the larger Southern District, which includes Alabama, the Florida Panhandle, Louisiana, and Mississippi. The circuit includes several congregations and ministries, all sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Colossians 3:23-24: "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ."

Cozy up with these soft and plushy blankets
The lap blanket project was an LWML project for Crestview Manor. We chose Crestview Manor because the facility provides affordable supportive living to low and moderate income, elderly and disabled or recuperating persons. These blankets were handmade by many ladies in our congregation so the residents wouldn’t be cold. We also collected belts which was an item on their wishlist. Volunteers at Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church enjoyed learning how to make these. Our pastor’s wife Cindy Parent taught us how to make the blankets. We enjoyed spending time with our sisters in Christ and doing something to make others more comfortable. Said Linda Urda. LWML President. Linda URDA became involved in LWML shortly after attending Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church in 1993 invited by Jeannie H. a church member. “LWML stands for Lutheran Women's Missionary League. It is an auxiliary of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS). The LWML focuses on developing and maintaining a greater mission consciousness among women in the LCMS through mission education, inspiration, and service. They also gather funds for mission grants. The phrase "Lutheran Women in Mission" reflects their purpose. “ Reach out for additional questions.
Huge thank you to the Ladies that participated in this beautiful event to support our Community!

"Before hurricane season, make a complete inventory of your valuables and personal property. Store important documents and valuables in a safe dry place. If you evacuate, take them with you if you can. Take a photo inventory before the storm and then take photos of any damage after the storm and then take photos of any damage after the storm for your insurance adjuster. Be sure that you are properly insured and understand all of the conditions of your policy prior to a disaster."
"Disasters can happen without warning. It is a good idea to have disaster supplies on hand year-round. Make sure you always have a working fire extinguisher, smoke detectors, and a carbon monoxide detector. These items save lives and reduce property damage. To reduce risk of fire, DO NOT USE CANDLES. Never use a generator or charcoal grill inside your home or inside your garage."
"Stock up on personal care and cleaning items. Check your supplies now to make sure you have these supplies on hand. Don’t forget disposable plates, cups and utensils, paper towels, and toilet paper.
