Christmas Parade Float Under Construction!

We are excited to participate once again in the Crestview Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 5–7 PM CST!

Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church members are coming together to build a very special float. Over the next few Saturdays, laughter and fellowship will be shared between paintbrush strokes and hammers. The smell of fresh wood already hints at cooler days and joyful anticipation.

Cozy up, grab some hot chocolate or warm apple cider, and come see us along the parade route. Our volunteer walkers will be handing out candy to the crowds.

We look forward to celebrating the joy of the season and remembering the birth of Jesus Christ — the true Light of Christmas.

Our Little Library – Give a Book, Take a Book

In 2024, Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church adopted a Little Library to share the joy of reading and community connection. This small library stands as a symbol of generosity and learning, a place where neighbors can exchange stories, encourage curiosity, and pass along the gift of knowledge.

We warmly invite you to visit our Little Library. Whether you choose to take a book to enjoy or leave one for another to discover, you become part of a beautiful circle of kindness and fellowship that continues to grow.

“Let all that you do be done in love.”

Ladies Christian Tea Party

Fellowship with these amazing women from Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church is always such an uplifting and joy-filled experience. This time, our journey took us to First Lutheran Church -Florala, Alabama, where we shared a beautiful afternoon of tea, laughter, and sisterhood.

We were blessed with a meaningful presentation by our Deaconess Heather on Ephesians 5:2 —

“And walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.”

What a reminder of how sweet it is to walk together in faith and love!

God Came to Tea By: Brenda Sheridan God came and sat down with me. I asked God to tea. God sat there in the kitchen and smiled at me. But I stumbled and mumbled, afraid just to speak. It was my invitation, yet how could this be? I poured God some tea and started to cry. God patiently waited, but finally asked why. I couldn’t begin, I was afraid just to start. What could I say, since God knows my heart? Do you love me? God asked. But of course! I replied. Then why won’t you speak to me? And again, I cried. I love you, God told me. I know you so well. But there are things on your mind. Why won’t you tell? But you know! I replied. You are God! I cried. I am just little me and I’m scared. Don’t you see? God took hold of my hand in the gentlest way. God said close your eyes and then try to pray. I love you so much, so much more than you know. Talk to me as a friend, just let the words flow. I don’t seek to control you, I want you to choose. I want you to love and I want you to lose the fear that has told you that God is so great that no one can know God, that Heaven can wait. For God is right here, God is sipping this tea. God is talking to you; will you please talk to me? So I prayed and I talked, soon my eyes opened wide. God was here drinking tea; God was right by my side. I’m no longer afraid, not in awe do I stand. But in love, like a friend. God again took my hand. Whenever you need me, remember the tea. Ask me in, sit me down, and then look at me. I’m your friend, God said. Don’t hold me in awe. So I looked in God’s eyes and there was love that I saw.

Speed Monopoly

Members of the Congregation enjoyed a few games of Speed Monopoly this past Saturday. Organized by our Social Ministry, the event was filled with laughter and camaraderie, cherished memories for all who attended. We look forward to more engaging events that bring our community closer together!

"Monopoly, as we know it today, was first marketed by Parker Brothers on November 5, 1935. However, the game's origins trace back to The Landlord's Game, patented by Elizabeth Magie in 1904"

Meet our new LCMS Southern District Circuit 15 Circuit Visitor!  Our Pastor. Pastor Parent.

Congratulations!

A Divine Worship service was held June 28, 2025, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Slidell, LA, to install the Southern District President, Praesidium, Board of Directors, and Circuit Visitors. LCMS Southern District Circuit 15 is one of the 15 circuits within the Southern District of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod (LCMS). It encompasses a specific geographical region within the larger Southern District, which includes Alabama, the Florida Panhandle, Louisiana, and Mississippi. The circuit includes several congregations and ministries, all sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Colossians 3:23-24: "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ."

Lap blankets, a gift to Crestview Manor-Crestview, Florida

Cozy up with these soft and plushy blankets

The lap blanket project was an LWML project for Crestview Manor. We chose Crestview Manor because the facility provides affordable supportive living to low and moderate income, elderly and disabled or recuperating persons. These blankets were handmade by many ladies in our congregation so the residents wouldn’t be cold. We also collected belts which was an item on their wishlist. Volunteers at Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church enjoyed learning how to make these. Our pastor’s wife Cindy Parent taught us how to make the blankets. We enjoyed spending time with our sisters in Christ and doing something to make others more comfortable. Said Linda Urda. LWML President. Linda URDA became involved in LWML shortly after attending Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church in 1993 invited by Jeannie H. a church member. “LWML stands for Lutheran Women's Missionary League. It is an auxiliary of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS). The LWML focuses on developing and maintaining a greater mission consciousness among women in the LCMS through mission education, inspiration, and service. They also gather funds for mission grants. The phrase "Lutheran Women in Mission" reflects their purpose. “ Reach out for additional questions.

Huge thank you to the Ladies that participated in this beautiful event to support our Community!
